Playing with Macro setting

I have been playing with the macro function on my HS10. Here are some of the results.
Need some more practice me thinks

 A peek inside a garlic

Michelle's cat. Looking sad at this angle

An open red wine bottle back lit by my computer screen

The inside view of a grater

Look closer and you can see me in the reflection.

Hayley left her note book on the table.

A rare moment when Eva was asleep and not getting into mischief

The snow and cold arrive

Finally after the weather men have promised all week we woke up to some snow. While it looks nice I wish it was summer

Early morning before the sun brightens up the day.
This image is a bit dull. I should have altered the exposure a bit.

A leaf on the road caught my eye

A walk in Dysart Park,Grantham. The Park wardens office all shut up against the cold

 No one wants to play

Even the spiders are finding it cold. Frost and snow everywhere today

Hayley and Luke play snow balls.
This picture looks like Luke has just thrown a snow ball at Hayley.
But in fact it's the other way round. Just that the snow ball has broken up in flight

Autumn Morning

Early morning the day is nice and crisp with no frost. With the sun shining the trees around my garden looked particularly nice this autumn morning.

I took this zoom shot of the moon before it went to bed for the day

Eva came to visit when Gaz and Etta went to look at a car. They dropped her off so she could play a while in our garden

Our next door neighbour has some apple trees and the apples look really nice. Mmmmmm apple pie. Think I may go scrumming tonight

A Walk to Belmont Tower

This is Belmont tower near Grantham. It was built in 1750 as a library by the owner of Belton House.

Michelle and I took an afternoon stroll up the hill to the tower after lunch Here are my first pictures from my new Fuji HS10

The view back to Belton House taken from behind the tower with the zoom on max.

Michelle wanted to have a go using the HS10. Not bad for her first picture.

Looking back towards the tower from within Londonthorpe woods. A dark and foreboding  place.

The light shining through the leaves at the far edge of the woods caught my eye.

We came across this tree with fungus growing on the trunk. After taking shots on the other side of the tree Michelle suggested this angle. Although some of the fungus has been broken off I think this is a really nice picture.

Just before we made our way down the hill to the car park. Michelle had a go at capturing this out of place Fir Tree. She was not too happy with this picture once we uploaded it from the camera to the PC. But it’s her second picture with this camera so not to bad just missing the top of the tree

An old bus shelter in Manthorpe Village. This is not the first time I have photographed this shelter.  The first time was over 25 years ago. That picture is buried in an album under the stairs somewhere.
